I need help writing a speech to my daughter who is having a batmitzvah. Clever, short, meaningful that gets a few chuckles. My daughter is bright, lots of friends, and can't wait for the party.Meanwhile, she is working quite hard on her hebrew, torah, etc.
Thanks for replying- I need bullets about your daughter-things of importance in her life,people,activities etc. Who is giving the speech?
Anything of importance you have shared in her preparation for becoming a Bat Mitzvah? Her personality traits- things like that. Kathi
Kathi,
Thank you for your offer to help.
Here are some key points about my daughter:
* she's in a girl rock band and plays the keyboard
* her community service is planning a coffee house for the middle schoolers in the community to perform and listen to music
* she's conscientious about her studies and learned her hebrew well and right on schedule; even the rabbi and cantor have commented she's doing well
*she has a brother 2 years younger; even tho they get on each other's nerves, they love each other
* she's likes to read
* she has alot of friends
* she plays the flute
* she's easy going, loves to laugh
* she loves being with her cousins and all the traditions and holidays the families share together
* she'd love to have a dog (my husband and I are not ready)
*she and I have this thing - she's getting more independent and loves it when I'm not home so I can't tell her to get off the computer. Sometimes I"ll come home late on purpose to give ehr space. She emails and IMs her friends and downloads music.
*she just bought her own IPOD and always, ALWAYS uses it. I always thought it would be a good idea for her to torah and haftorah portions on it!!
