I made my own flower girl basket using a metal bucket from the craft store and decorated it with tule, silk flowers, and silver beads. Now I have requests from frieds to make additionals for them. I want to purchase the metal buckets as inexpensive as possible to lower the cost. Does any one have and suggestions. The one I originally purchased from the craft shop was $5.50. I would like to pay around $2-3 dollars a piece. Thanks, Juli
Hi, Juli
I just saw your posting and I had been searching for cute affordable flower girls baskets and of course
Everything was either too costly (for one day) or just not what I was looking for, so I decide to make my own after studying every basket I could get my hands on I went to Wal-Mart for the satin and ribbons, flowers etc and made them myself (I made two baskets for $16.87) , but I noticed in the craft/sewing section galvanized buckets or pails for as little as $1.50 in a variety of sizes (no kidding!) now I bought them to fill with prizes for the children in my wedding but I am sure you might find what you are looking for there
I know a lot of people turn their nose up at the thought of buying their wedding supplies there but that is their loss I have saved a ton of money getting my ribbon, satin flowers, bells, unity candle set , I even got these really cool stainless steel flask sets for our groomsmen there!!!! I'm telling you don't leave Wal-Mart out when preparing for you big day!!! Check them out first

Check out www.bucket-outlet.com (2 Qt. Galvanized tin buckets for $2.49 a piece) and www.aperfectfavor.com (nicely finished, not rough - a little pricier than the bucket outlet, but you'll like them :)). I am thinking of using the bucket outlet for my pew buckets (Martha Stewart idea), and a perfect favor one for the flower girl.
Hey, I just wondered into this site, and I have a really cheap alterantive to buying them in the store. Check out oreintal trading catalouges. I believe the website The best part about it is that you can buy a dozen for about $10. Good luck!
Thank you so much for that website (www.bucket-outlet.com). I'm getting married in June and was searching on orientaltrading.com. I saw mini pails that I really want to use in some way, and it got me to thinking about using pails for the flower girls. The baskets are unreal prices! Anyway, I saw this post and immediately went to the site and found two perfect pails for my flower girls and I found a mini tub that I'm going to use to hold the bubbles for the reception. Again, thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am doing galvanized buckets as my centerpieces with little bottles of champagne in them. My colors are silver and pink so I thought the siver buckets would be perfect. Anyway, I was in Target and saw these little buckets that were all different colors in the Easter section. I have rectangle tables so I wanted something to go on the ends. Thse are the perfect size for something such as floating candles or candies. There is also a little bow tied on it. Only $1 each!! They has some for Valentine's Day and now Easter so I'm not sure if they'll have more after Easter or not.
We carry galvanized buckets,v ases, and pails in all sizes, no order is to big or too small for us to fulfill, please check out a small sampling of our selection at this direct link:
Could U please send me a pic of the flower girl bucket. I'm using a bucket too. Please put Flower girl bucket in the subject, so I will know what the e-mail is. Thanks so much.
