US Citizen Woman Wanting To Marry A UK Citize

Hello all. I am a US female citizen and I want to marry a UK citizen man. I have no idea as to how to go about this. Has anyone out there been in a situation simliar to mine or knows someone out there who has experienced the same situation? If so please help. I would be most grateful. Is it easier for us to get married in the US or the UK? I hear that is is a long process so I want to get things rolling right away. Thank you.
