My sweet sixteen isn't till November, but i want to plan ahead. I have no idea what to do for my party since it is in the winter/cold time of the year. And there isn't much to do here in jacksonville florida. My parents are afraid of spending so much money, but i want this to be a party my friends will never forget without going all out and going broke. The thing is....i have both male and female friends. I really need some ideas of what i can do. If you have any help you can give me please let me know. I could use all the help i can get. Thanks.
I'm having my sweet sixteen in November also. Nov.29th. I was afraid of the same thing! NOT ENOUGH MONEY! I have my 2 parents, 2 little sisters and newborn brother and a 18 year brother that won't move out. My father is opening up a new baber shop, so our budget is really tight right now But all you have to do is calm down I know the year is going really fast but believe me everythig will work out great! I have guys in my sweet sixteen. There are 8 girls and 8 guys all together 16! I'm puertoRican so in my family we do it really big like a wedding almost! I'm getting my dresses made and my dress is stapless, I was kind of worried about that because it''s cold in Nov. But that's what I always wanted, and I already have the hotel ball room booked. I still need to find a church and that's the part that is worring me the most due to the fact that there are only pentacostal churches around my way! I have to hurry up and find a chatholic church and book it for that day. On top of everything my boyfriend and i just resently broke up so I don't have anyone to walk me down.
I think of it like this regardless if its cold or hot, a huge ball room or a small room. You will have fun and all your friends will too. It's your day and you should get what you want, and beleive me becuase I'm doing it now, you can find everything you want if you take the time out and shop on a budget!
Hey Girls I know that maybe your sweet sixteen's have passed but I had my party already and I often plann sweet sixteen's all the time. You have to shop around to get the best bargains, don't give up on the first time you see something. I was somewhat restricted to with my budget but in the end mine came out better than some of my friend who spent thousands more. One tip to cut money on the dinner, have a buffet because it's cheaper and it doesn't take that much time away from your party, for example if you have a sit down dinner that might take and hour and a half away from your party time. PS mine was also in Novemeber and I am up north it wasn't that cold but you can do a lot no matter what the time.
My sister just finished her sweet sixteen and all she did was watch a funny movie with her friends and hangout and they all had a blast. U dont need alot of money to have a good time
