My fiance wants a small wedding and I wanted a big one. Since relationships are about compromise we decided that we would have a small wedding and a big reception. My question is does anyone have any ideas on what I should put on the invitations for the people that are invited to just the reception? I am at a loss here and I really need to get going seeing as my wedding date is May 31st. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
I read about this exact subject in one of my bridal magazines just last month and according to proper ettiquette it is considered to be rude to send invitations for only the receptions and not invite them to the ceremony as well. I guess it would insult alot of people. I hope this this doesn't discourage you much. Sorry! Hope it works out.
Well, actually it doesn't discourage me. I have had nothing but positive feedback about this situation from family and friends alike. Everyone knows that he wants a small wedding AND they are just excited that we are going to allow them to help us celebrate at the reception. I am feeding everyone so I mean it would have been more cost effective for us to have a small wedding AND reception BUT I want everyone to enjoy themselves. I wouldn't trust everything you read in those magazines - I mean - think about it........the people that write those articles are just that - people and who makes them more of an expert than you OR me???
