this online bridal show is amazing. i havent found the perfect wedding dress yet and im hoping that i can look at a bridal show in another state to find it. does anyone have a recommendation for a shop in chicago illinois?
I loved the Bridal Mansion in Lisle. They have been around for years, although they just moved down the block. My friend go married 17 eyars ago and went there and the service was superb. I went to 2 "big box" bridal stores and was extremely disappointed. I went to Bridal Mansion and they were wonderful. I tried on a bunch of dresses. Margie tried several styles on me. I narrowed it down to 2 choices and went back a second day with my sister. We tried on a few more and ended up with the first one Margie put on me. Very reasonalbe prices too.
I have heard a couple good stories about them, but I have heard an overwhelmingly large number of negative experiences. I am currently working with them (and regretting ever going there.) In a nutshell, the women who work there are very accommodating and kind as you are trying on your bridal dresses, but once they have your deposit, they will be rude to you and your bridesmaids. They have been very unhelpful, have rushed me through everything (were even annoyed when I requested to try on my wedding gown once it came in), did not help my bridesmaids at all and criticized one for her weight, and put extremely high pressure on me for any purchase I considered. And then Margie, yes, she seemed nice at first, would not even bring my change back to me from my final payment on my dress (she had another woman do it because she was "busy" with another bride...even though I had an appointment.) Awful, awful experience. Please save yourself the nightmarish hassle.
Wow! That surprises me because I have called them several times about out of town bridesmaids dresses and they have been terrific. I have also talked to my bridesmaids and they have been great to them. I'll see what happens when my dress comes in, but I will say they were better than Davids or House of Brides who offered no help at all right from the start and criticized me for my weight (which I am not fat, but I do have a large chest)
Crystal Bride in Geneva - they're fabulous. I purchased my dress at Bridal Mansion (what a nightmare), but was smart enough to move the rest of my business (alterations and bridesmaids) to Crystal Bride!
