i want to hire the Swing Kings for my wedding but my fiance, Monica, really wants an elaborate bridal gown and it seems that we cannot afford both. What's more important and what do i do?
I would say definately go for a more elaborate dress, I know it's the thing my fiance wants more than anything, the most beautiful gown money can buy, I'd say skip the band and go with a DJ instead.
The music makes or breaks your wedding!!! A great band is miles above a DJ!! No one will remember your gown, your flowers, your limo, etc...but they will remember a great band that made a great party!! You could always have 200 people sit around and look at you dress???
Go for the gown. A DJ is a far better musical choice. They can play any era of music well, they don't take breaks, they can take requests, and they can read the crowd to determine what type of music to play to get the crowd going again. A band tends to play one type of music per set and can be limited on what they play. They cannot take requests that day and often have to learn new songs for the wedding, which they may or may not be able to do.
AS I said before.....The music makes or breaks your wedding!!! A great band is miles above a DJ!! No one will remember your gown, your flowers, your limo, etc...but they will remember a great band that made a great party!! You could always have 200 people sit around and look at you dress???
I'd be more concerned over your future wife's focus on a dress that she will wear only once for a few hours. Simplicity is frequently more beautiful (and comfortable) than some elaborate gown. And . . . since you are on a budget, it would seem compromise is in order. You can afford both a band and a gown - just not the gown SHE wants. Hmmmmm....
Bands can play many different styles of music in the same set. We certainly do. We also offer continuous music, which means no breaks. It costs more, but it's a great option. And while some bands cost a fortune because they can't break down into a smaller combo and still sound good, we offer that option, too. So you can have both band and dress. Less is more, smimplicity is very hip - and there is nothing like live music. Even 16 year olds having quincinerias know that!
