First, what month is your party? You should go with colors that go with the season. If your birthday is in the summer, you can go with pastels, like soft pink, baby yellow. If your birhday is in the fall, you can use darker blues, navy, royal, cobalt, indigo, or just blend your color dress with white. For my sweet sixteen in July, my dress was pink and the girls wore baby blue with baby blue and white umbrellas, the guys tuxedos were gray with baby blue ties and cumberbands. It looked very nice because the colors matched the season. I'm now planning my daughters sweet sixteen in Dec. And her dress is Royal blue/white and the girls are in royal blue. Again, spring and summer -light colors, fall and winter-dark colors.
