I have a size 8 sample of Melissa Sweet's Hallie that I purchased in February. It is in great condition with only minor damage to the lace overlay (my future mother-in-law is a seamstress and is able to repair it beforehand if needed). It is a perfect street size 8. I absolutely love this dress but need to find something a little more appropriate for my ceremony.
Before I bought the gown, I met with the store's seamstress, who says that it can easily be altered.
There's a scalloped lace border at the hem that is attached to the body of the dress. The border can be detached with any necessary length removed from the body; the border can then be reattached. I wouldn't need anything taken in at the bodice because it fits me perfectly, but this would also be easily accomplished from the side seams.
