Recently did a great tiered cupcake centerpiece for a baby shower. I am very picky about appearance, and I was pleased. In fact, the ladies went crazy over it. One friend is copying the look for her daughter's graduation reception. I used a 3 tiered glass cake platter from Anchor Hocking. It was $20 at Bed Bath & Beyond or Linens n Things. I put a short arrangement of flowers in the center on top with ribbons coming out and trailing down to the base. I also put cupcakes around the floral centerpiece on top. I then simply put cupcakes on all levels and inserted various coordinating flowers in the gaps. I also took small flowers and placed one on each cupcake's center. -Could used edible ones, but my guests simply removed the flower. The flower on the top really made a difference. It added height and visual appeal to the whole ensemble. The other option would be a frosting decoration on top. Some of the pics I've seen online are downright ugly. I don't care for the leaves coming off the tiers...I thought my pretty flowers coming out between cupcakes was so much better. I really think flowers are the answer to pretty vs. Plain cupcake trees. Hope these ideas help. I'll watch the board and answer more questions if anyone has any.
Hi there....loved your idea. Have you heard of cupcake cuddlers? They are listed on Partypop, "wedding cakes". They are really cute, and I use them in the same tiered fashion you do. I don't like leaves hanging out either. Actually it is my company, and I used them for a wedding cake for Brad and Kimberly Paisley. Check them out...I think you'll like what you see. Just a thought...
Ps. Do you have pictures? Would love to see your display.
I saw your product. Simply wonderful! The answer to fabulous cupcake trees is "fancy filler". The bare gaps and uniform height are the problems. I love the fancy schmancy extras to help with that problem and your cuddlers are such a great answer! Good luck and I'm sure I'll be a future customer. -Jennifer
