My name is Nicole Toomer and I Have been engaged for a year . My fiance' and I was planning on getting married this April 18 that just past. I had to push it back because my husband to be lost his job the same week we were planning on getting married. His company decided to merge in with another company So alot of the guys that he had work with got laid off including himself. He found another job working for BJ's whole sale stocking late at night now. He had to take a pay cut so he doesn't make as much as he use to make. We are trying to plan a wedding but we also getting stress beause we have to pay other bills So the money that we have left over is not enough to plan a wedding. . We don't want to bother our parents for money because there budget is alos tight we looking for ways to find help if there anyone out there that would find it in there hearts to help us we would really apprecate all the help we can get to have our dream wedding come ture.

Thank You,
Nicole M. Toomer

Re: Wedding
Look into sponsored weddings, they do have them. Also you may look into the Lifetime or TLC network as they have so many things that you can sign up for to have someone help you with your dream wedding. Don't give up. You can have a beautiful day just going to a chapel and having a few folks invited back to a park for a beautiful outdoors lunch or early dinner. You can make your day special. As for working at BJ's, I work there at night (after leaving my full-time job working at Wachovia bank) and even working the 2 jobs is just making ends meet so I understand fully. I figured that I would just work at BJ's for a year to plan my daughter's Sweet 16 while I am having a house built and believe me, it is hard to stretch that paycheck so I understand. Pray and keep hold of your faith and things will happen in time. If you want more information that I can find on those ideas, leave me your e-mail address and I can send you some information.

Re: Wedding
Your husband lost his job the same week you were getting married? Wouldn't you have already purchased everything already if you were getting married that week???? And how did you cancel all the vendors only days before your wedding? Didn't you lose your deposits? Why didn't you just go ahead with it?

Re: Wedding
This story doesn't make sense, I think this is a scam to get money out of people...

Re: Wedding
I was thinkging the same thing as you, Lori Halpen. Doesn't make sense. But you know what they say, there's a sucker born every minute. I'm sure she'll make a profit off a few people.

Re: Wedding
Nicole,

It seems to me if your fiancelost his job the same week you were getting married, that everything was already paid for. Most vendors require 50% down and the balances 30 days beforehand. You would have already had the gown, cake, photographer, limo, flowers, etc. So, the wedding could have gone on as planned. My question is: what is it exactly that you are asking for? Help in what form? Donated bridal items? Money? Also, what is your new wedding date? I would think you set a new date based upon your financial situation and ability to pay for what you want based on both of your incomes. When you post something like this, you are bound to cause suspicion in an already cautious public. In any case, good luck.

Re: Wedding
Here is what I read in your note here... Your fiance and you were making plans (planning was the key word here) to get married and the same week that you started making your plans, he got laid off. You NEVER stated that you were getting married that week when he was laid off so you put things off. You NEVER stated that you laid out all of the money and because he lost his job the weed OF the wedding that you had to put if off. You never said any of that. You clearly stated that the week that you guys sat down to start making your wedding plans, he was laid off. Nothing was paid for, nothing was set in stone nothing was organized, you had only started planning. I read your message very well so I understood it very well. Again, you stated that the week you were planning your wedding, he was laid off from his job having to take a cut and a smaller position at BJ's. Sometimes you have to READ the message before you leave your opinion people. She was not asking people to pay for her wedding, she was asking for ideas and Mika gave her some. You have to clearly READ what the person is saying before you be harsh towards them and accuse them of being a con.
