Aagh! We are having a venetian masquerade (not mardi gras) wedding and want it to be formal, and the formality of the invitations dictates the formality of the dress code. But there are no formal looking masquerade invitations. I was thinking of just doing standard invitations and getting a little flat mask insert with info about the reception on it, but I can't find anything like that either.

Hello - I would love to help you out with your theme. I have a lot of pictures on my web site of other orders that I have done. But I could definitely come up with Centerpieces, favors, etc. That will match your theme and that can be done to be very elegant.
I too am having a masquerade ball reception. I searched for months to find invitation. I became obsessed., and my finacee thought I was going crazy. I have a few places saved, but try cardsupply.com. They have a nice variety to choose from. As for centerpieces, we're using cheap oil lamps and dressing them up with coordinating flowers and ceramic masks. I hope this helps. I bought masks from oriental trading and are using them as place cards. Be forewarned, you get what you pay for. They are a little cheap looking, but for my purposes and the price, they are great.
