I am 19 and starting college in 2 weeks.I have been on the Depo shot for a little over a year now (since last June). I'm debating if I should continue on it or switch to the pill. I haven't had any major problems with it and it works well for me b/c I can hide it from my parents (sounds silly but they would be devastated). Some of these stories are horrible and I need some advice because now is the time for me to decide. I love children and can't wait to have them someday in the future. What should I do? Any other ideas for birth control? (By the way, we always use a condom no matter what, should I still be on a birth control then?) Please help!
The only one who can make this decision is you. If you need some more info to help you make this decision the best person to talk to is your doctor or even your local sexual health clinic (planned parenthood). I would heavily suggest still using condoms though (good decision) because the pill and depo do not prevent the spread of STD's.
