WEDDING SPONSORS

Hey, asking for someone to sponsor your wedding doesn't typically mean that you dont have money. Why cant we find a way to help out a local vendor that may need some publicity? Or help out someone who is just starting out in their profession and need to display their talents? How come it has to be begging? Hey, I am looking for sponsors not just to get something free, but to help them in return. He/She may not know who on my guest list may be of some "special importance"

Re: WEDDING SPONSORS
You would do better to start looking in your area. Start by writing letters to 5 each of the following:
Bakeries
Florist
DJ's
Photographers
Caterers
Halls
Bridal Boutiques

Send letters out to 5 of each so that if one says no, you have 4 other chances of hearing a yes. You may not get a full sponsor, you may get a wonderful discount. You will have to get business card tents and programs to put these businesses names in the programs so that people will know who to purchase items from. I had a friend who had sponsors for her program. They paid to have their business mentioned in her wedding program (I didn't like it but it was not my wedding). She sold ad space and raised a little over $5000 for her wedding. I admit, I did find a good place for my car insurance and a nice Mexican restaurant.

Re: WEDDING SPONSORS
What should the letters say that you send to each vendor? I would think you'd have to say more than....hi I'm getting married, would you like to be a sponsor??
I'm seriously considering making an attempt at this, but am unsure of how to go about doing it

Re: WEDDING SPONSORS
She wrote something like this:

Dear (get the name of the owner or manager, never do to whom it may concern, you are asking them for something so address them properly)

For the past 10 years, my family and I have purchased cakes from your shop. We have enjoyed the flavors, the variety of styles, the uniqueness of each cake. It was as if the cake was made especially for each one of us. We were never disappointed with the quality, style or taste.
I am getting married on April 25th, and we would like to have the basket weave 3 tiered wedding cake with the gum paste flowers that we saw in your catalog. It is our dream to have one of your cakes at our wedding celebration as your cakes have been at many of our celebrations. As you can see, my family has been a dedicated customer of yours for 10+ years.

I would like to ask you about sponsoring my wedding. For sponsoring my wedding, I will pass out business cards to my family, friends and employees. As the Event Planner for my company (name the company), I can guarantee that we will purchase desserts for our Partners Meetings, Holiday functions and I will also place your information in our monthly newsletter. If you would like to work out a negotiation, please contact me at

Re: WEDDING SPONSORS
I want to thank everyone involved who responded to my message concerning my deaf's daughter's upcoming wedding. You are most helpful. It's good to know there are people out there who take the time to answer and show concern. May everyone who is getting married have the very best of luck, health and happiness. Thanks!

Re: WEDDING SPONSORS
I am planning on getting married in May of 2007. I am looking for sponsors for parts of my wedding. My mother passed away this past May and I am trying to figure out how to pay for the wedding. I am still paying off medical bills from her illness. My fiance just started his own business, so money is tight. We want to save money for this special event, but we won't be able to save enough to have a typical wedding. I am not looking for anything extravagant, just nice. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am from the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Please give me some information. THANK-YOU!

Re: WEDDING SPONSORS
Hi I've this message and I think this is a great idea! I am a professional makeup artist in search for more business. I would be willing to sponsor a few weddings in my area MD, DC or VA to get new clients. We should talk! Too bad I don't live in Cincinnati. My package would include free consultation and makeover for the bride and bridal party on the day of the wedding!

Re: WEDDING SPONSORS
Hello,

My fiance and I are getting married within the next two months--not long at all. We've been planning for over a month now but nothing has been confirmed. We've been going back and forth because his parents live in another country and will not be able to attend this year or even early next year--there is no way of knowing if they are going to be able to attend. Therefore, we decided just to get married at City Hall and then next year have a nice wedding. Unfortunately I am not 100% thrilled on the idea of going to City Hall (not that I am against it or anything). My parents live here and out of the 5 children, and being the youngest female, I'd be the only one to get married in church. We are not prepared financially to put together a wedding/reception for this September or October 2006...but I do believe miracles can come true. He would like to marry around my birthday which is in September, but right now...I really do not see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am confused as to what exactly we can do...take out a loan? Find a sponsor in such short notice? I appreciate any feedback or assistance. Blessings!!

Hi Linda,

I checked out the website and I see that your company put together beautiful weddings. I see that you are located in Florida though. Do you plan local weddings only? And thanks for responding.

Re: WEDDING SPONSORS
You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. My sister is getting hitched September 2007. Our family is large with over 150 first cousins alone. My 5 single siblings and I have all attended ivy-league universities, are well connected, and are more than willing to put in a good word for any vendor who is willing to help me give her a wedding she never dreamed possible. She and her fiancee are 27 and live in the DC/Maryland area. They are open to most locations on the east coast near NYC, where she is originally from. Let's work together-- Super Sis to the Rescue
