Hi! I'm thinking of having a winter themed wedding in May. Could you give me some ideas of what I could do? Also if you have some pictures could you send those too?
Hi! I am getting married this December 29 and would love to hear of any ideas you have! my email is smcentee@rizzo.com. I want WINTER - not christmasy. Thanks a lot!!
A simple but neat centerpiece for a winter wedding is a low bowl filled with glass "ice." Underlight it with led lights, then heap elegant ornaments in the bowl. If you want to stay away from a christmas feeling stick with metallics, but make the ornaments a little bit different (e.g. All silver, but slightly different sizes with some matte and some gloss).
Also, pink is an underused color for winter wonderland weddings. Pink and silver look fantastic that time of year and you can find things like fairytale christmas trees in that color. Add fantasy elements like huge flamingo feathers, etc.
To Elly, you can get around situations like that by draping the walls with fabric. You would need to create some sort of stand to hold the fabric. I have done this with PVC that was bolted down to plywood squares, and you can make it as tall as you need. You could then wrap each stand in satin to keep it elegant, and drape long sheets of gauzy fabric between each stand. Add some twinkle lights behind the fabric, and rent some large bare-branch trees for the corners of the room (add twinkle lights there too). It will totally change the atmosphere.
My daughter is planning a winter wedding. We were also thinking of using vases and putting acrylic ice in to get the ice effect. Do you have pictures of how your vases turned out with the cellophane in them? That would be a lot less expensive if it gives the same look.
Did you find birch trees? Or did you just paint some branches that you found in your local woods. We live in Mississippi - not that many birch trees around.
MY DAUGHTER IS GETTING MARRIED ON NEW YEARS EVE .SHE WOULD LIKE SPARKLING BRANCHES AND WINTERY THEME. HER COLORS ARE COBALT BLUE WHITE AND SILVER. DO YOU HAVE ANY PICTURES. THANK YOU LUCY
I went ahead and put a picture of the porcelain ornaments I was referring to on the web site you can see what I was referring to there on the front page under the sale button
To rent trees, contact major greenhouses in your area. They are used to renting out plants for events although they mostly work with events coordinators. If you are really stuck for a source, call up local planners who put together large events for corporations or 'platinum' style weddings. If you find someone friendly they will be able to give you lots of leads.
We've put up a new winter wonderland planning page with some ideas. Please come by and share yours.
Hello, we are planning my daughters wedding this February and we love the idea of the branches. Do you have any pictures? Did you use whie lights? Any suggestions would be very helpful
Hi there! My future hubby and I are also having a winter wedding. We want a snowflake/winter wonderland theme. Our colors are going to be royal blue, ice blue, silver, and white. If anyone has any ideas or pictures, PLEASE e-mail them to me.
Thank you in advance!
Planning on having same theme. Please share ideas. I am using cornflowerblue from David Bridal for my main color and the girls dresses. I want to incorporate the willow branches into the reception some how. Were on a very tight budget. Were getting married on a cruise then having our reception when we get back.
I have two great style vases that would work with your using branches and I can do them with delicate snowflakes with tiny diamond rhinestone's in the center of the snowflakes for added sparkle. The sale prices include the personalization and design. I was thinking of they Cylinder Vases or the Flared vases, which would allow you to be able to flare out the branches more.
OMG if u could please help. I just started planning my wedding, and already i am completely overwhelmed. I want very badly to have a wonter wonderland themed wedding, but there are just so many different ideas.
