We had a HUGE problem with the tux rental from rex formal wear here in san antonio, texas and we wanted to let everyone know that you should not go there!
We were amazed by the selection they offered and the prices and we payed dearly for our choice. The tuxes on the day of my wedding were substandard, dirty and in disrepair. We even had to have one groomsmen in black even though the rest were in ivory and were told of the fitting problem the morning of the wedding (too late for it to be fixed).
We had shoes ordered with the tuxes and some were sized wrong or dirty and one pair was falling apart. Nothing could be done with the shoes as no other pair was available in ivory when the tux was picked up.
The cost was figured in and we were told the only changes would due to one of the groomsmen needing a larger than average tux and we were aware of that and had no problem with that however the day he picked up his tux we were told that the ivory tux we ordered for him IN DECEMBER did not come in ivory only in black.
Then there was the problem with the deposit - we gave the deposit so that everyone would not have to make their own and they still charged half the groomsmen a deposit on top of the one they got from me.
Then there was the pricing - we attended a wedding convention (which i recommend to any bride to be) and was given a coupon for a free tux for the groom and free shoes for the groomsmen.
Well the store agreed to the coupon but upped the price for the vest to offset the loss of the shoe rental. They did this after the price had been set and agreed upon by me and the staff member who wrote up my requirements for my bridal pary.
So if you live in San Antonio Texas, i recommend that you go anywhere else to get your tux rentals rather than go to Rex Formal Wear.
When we were in line to pick up the groom's tux there were several people in line with us that had had similiar problems so we were not alone in our dissappointment with Rex's.
