I am planning a bridal shower for my sister and who should be invited? Father of groom's girlfriend (who he lives with for 10 years), her adult daughter, out of town guests who we know can't come (aunt who is in wedding), friends' parents who she knows well?
Invite only people who are invited to the wedding. As for who that entails, I'm not sure what the proper way of going about it is. I threw a shower for my best friend years ago but her mom wanted every female who was invited to the wedding to receive an invite. Even one in Alabama! (We were in Chicago at the time). I recall my mom and I having a problem with inviting so many people who weren't as close to my friend but I did just to appease her mom. Of course, in the end, the people who showed up were the immediate family of the bride and groom and close friends. Maybe someone else can help you a little more than I did (sorry). I think if it were me, however, I'd keep it in the family and immediate friends circle.
