If you think these message board are so silly why don't you just not take part in them? You're long winded messages look more like you're trying to be argumentative and lack a little maturity. In fact I did keep a list as to everybody who attended the wedding and what gifts they gave so I could thank them appropriately. I too had people at the wedding that gave only what they could afford and that is absolutely fine by me - I was just happy they could make it. I just find it odd that she (and another close friend) have not acknowledged that they gave nothing. Maybe me knowing that financially they are doing VERY well and can't figure out why they wouldn't give a gift. Maybe you won't understand until you get married yourself.

Of COURSE I was being argumentative and extremely sarcastic to make my point because the person demonstrating immaturity was YOU...and judging from the other posts most agree that it was pretty nit-picky of you to even notice that she didn't give you a gift and even more immature that you would consider evening the score by not giving one to her! Trust me, when I get married I'll "understand better" ...that my wedding isn't about getting gifts. Quit getting so defensive.
