I'm wracking my brain, trying to figure out how to word this on my invitations. This is a VERY small wedding - only 12 guests and they're all extended family. What is the best way to word this, where the guests will know they'll be paying for their own meal?
It's not the idea of paying for your own or not. I'm sure that anyone who is close to the Bride or Groom would be glad to pay for their own meal......but really should they have to? It is only twelve people, celebrate with a backyard barbeque or something. Maybe just serve dessert or finger foods at a reception following the ceremony, but really please don't ASK people to pay for their own. Are either set of parents involved at all, maybe they could help you pay for it? It's only 12 people I think you can come up with a better idea. I had 15 for Christmas dinner and it was not bad at all. Good luck with your decision.
