Hi my name is Amanda and I am 22 and I am wanting to become a wedding coordinator. I would really appreciate it if you can send me some ideas for colleges.
Thank You
Amanda
Don't you think you should be able to find this information out on your own? If you can't manage to figure out how to get information how do you anticipate being able to plan someone's wedding and manage that process?
If you go to almost any wedding site, if you read through all the small print there is usually a link to become a bridal consultant. You don't have to go to college for it. 99% of the programs are home study. I am going to school for criminal justice and I am almost done with my degree and realizing that I actually hate it and have enjoyed planning my wedding, my best friends and my cousins. I too am looking into it. For me money is the issue. Most programs are between $500-1,000. SInce I go to school for free right now I am stuck finishing my degree inCJ! Good luck
No, Meredith has an excellent point. It's scary to see how unresourceful some people are in regards to finding what they need/want. Would you want someone like Amanda as your wedding planner knowing she couldn't even figure out how to chase her career goal? How will she be able to find a great reception hall for her clients...how about finding the best caterer. In order to be a wedding planner you MUST be resourceful and smart -- YOU need to take charge and help your clients.
There is a reason that most consultants get a certificate instead of just winging it. Most programs out there teach you how to be resourceful and such, that is the point of it. I am a sophmore in college, getting ready to me a junior and I am still having trouble going about getting the degree I really want. Right now as I said previously I am almost done with my CJ degree, my real major is Forensic Psychiatry and Criminal Profiling, every site tells me different classes to take.
Maybe not only does she need a little insight to go about this career choice but also to see if anybody has a suggestion to a good, creditable source to go about getting the education she needs
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think she is being resourceful. She had to have researched at least a little bit to have stumbled onto this website. If I were her I would have done the same thing. In fact, we all were researching something that dealt with weddings, for whatever reason, and stumbled upon this web site and used the resources that were here. Those resources are people talking to other people. I do not know why people post just to create some sort of drama.
