At The Place to Potter everybody is made very welcome, whether Pottering in Scotland, using the Café, having a Party or looking for a gift, we strive to make everybody’s experience a special one.

Set in the beautiful Scottish Borders town of Peebles, The Place to Potter Ceramic Café has something for everybody. Whether you are looking for a fun activity, need to arrange a party, are searching for that special gift, or just fancy a delicious cuppa, The Place to Potter with it’s warm, relaxed, and welcoming atmosphere is the place to come.

Pottering

No artistic talent required, just have fun. Perfect for all ages. Come and surprise yourself by creating your own truly unique masterpiece. Our large variety of ceramics suit all tastes, occasions and ages, and as much help as is needed is on hand. Make your pottering experience even more enjoyable by adding a drink and cake!

Our Café is an ideal place to meet friends. It is truly child friendly with high chairs and changing facilities and even a toy box to keep the little ones amused while you enjoy your coffee.

Parties & Events

Ideal for Birthday Parties for all ages, for an outing with a group of friends, a hen-night, or a bit of a change for a works night out. Whatever the occasion The Place To Potter can put together a package for you.

Children’s Birthday Parties

£8 per child without party food, or £10 per child with party food. We ask for a minimum of 8 at the party, and can accommodate up to 20. This package includes a choice of any small collectable to paint, and the party host receives a laminated photo montage as a lovely reminder of their party.

Other Parties or Events

If you and your guests don’t fancy painting a small collectable, simply set a price limit per person and choose from the wide range. Food can be added from an additional £2 per head, or you can choose to simply have the refreshments available from the café.

Parties and group events can be booked within normal opening hours, or arranged for out with these hours. If an evening booking is desired, we ask for a minimum total spend £100 for a 2 hour booking.

Mobile Service

If it suits you better, your pottering party can come to you. The same arrangements apply as to parties in the shop except that if you want to paint something other than the collectables, we ask that you choose your pieces in advance. The only extra cost is a mileage charge if the distance is further than 10 miles.
