My Style and approach to your day

Please note: The following outlines a typical itinerary as to how my day will unfold as the wedding photographer; it is only an example and of course your personal shooting choice may differ acording to your own needs, location and requirements.

Here Come the Girls!

Depending on logistics, I will usually start the days' wedding photography with the bride and her bridesmaids (this maybe at her house, beauticians or at the wedding venue). My shooting style will be very unobtrusive, working behind the scenes, capturing emotions and tension as it unfolds. This is also a good time to take some informal portraits of the bride and her party.

The bride will also start to relax in front of the camera in this relaxed atmosphere (essential for true and pure photographic coverage). If appropriate, I will also get pictures of the dress, shoes, flowers and other details that maybe forgotten about in years to come. If logistics allow, I may have time to photograph the groom in preparation too.

The Wedding Venue

Next stop is the wedding venue, allowing plenty of time to photograph 'lead in' shots (wedding pictures of the venue itself, the grounds and the reception table decorations). At a pre-arranged time I'll meet with the groom and his wedding entourage, and, using a variety of locations and props capture a mix of formal and relaxed images. Informal shots of guests arriving are also completed at this stage of the wedding celebrations.

The Wedding Ceremony

When all wedding guests and grooms' party are inside, I will spend time with the bride and bridesmaids upon arrival at the wedding venue. Apart from requested formal groups of the above, I will step back at this stage, working as unobtrusively as possible. During the wedding ceremony, I'll work without flash to capture the intimacy and emotion of this key period. Signing of the register is next, usually a mix of formal and informal techniques. After the Main Event If the weather is on our side, we will then move to an appropriate location to shoot the groups (if requested). I'll then take a step back and capture the excitement and celebration, splitting my time between bride/groom and wedding party. At a point conveneint for all concerned, I'll also spend some one to one time with the bride and groom away from the main party. I always work as quickly as possible so as not to untrude on your wedding day celebrations. (If the weather is not so kind to us, I will use locations within the venue using a variety of photography techniques, including natural light photography, bounced flash photography and studio light photography.

Wedding Breakfast

This is your time and I will endeavour to capture the speeches and guests at their tables as unobtrusively as possible. It is always a lively part of the celebrations and a great oportunity for me to capture the fun! I will also photograph the cake/cakes separately and with bride/groom as appropriate.

Evening Celebrations

During this period I step back and capture all of the fun and excitment as it unfolds; dancing, drinking! throwing the bouquet, photographing the musicians, and never taking my eye off the whereabouts of the stars; the bride and groom. My work usually finishes after the first dance, but as always, I can finish at a time convenient for you!
