Children's Entertainers

For me, a dab of creative flair, a genuine love of working with children and a passion for organising inspiring and fun events meant that setting up my own business Buttons was always inevitable. No other job could make me this happy from when I get up in the morning to when I go to bed at night, the satisfaction from knowing I've made a little person's day extremely special is second to none.
My mum is a primary school teacher and so when I was younger I got plenty of chances to tag along on school trips and help out when needed. After college I studied for a degree in Design and Sustainable Futures and graduated in 2006 with a 2:1 BA(Hons). Although I loved my course, and all the techniques it taught me, I knew I didn't want to be a designer so off I went to work in a primary school and teach art for a year.
Messy, fun and totally inspiring, I learnt so much about how children play, how they love to create and to try new things and how fabulously simple life is for them a world away from the daily grind of being an adult.
As a naturally organised person and one who loves a life of adventure and creativity, the events industry beckoned and I decided to grab the opportunity. So I put down my paintbrush and went to be a party planner for a children's eventpany before taking up a position as an events manager for a 4 star hotel.
These two amazing opportunities gave me the experience in everything from creating and planning themed children's parties to handling corporate events for some of the largest businesses in the UK to planning and managing weddings. Yet however much I enjoyed it all, I missed the chaotic fun of working with children and knew I had to take the knowledge I'd learned and channel it into a job where I could be creative every day hence the birth of Buttons. Today I feel like the luckiest person in the world to be able to create parties that children and parents will remember for years. It's the best feeling when you have a group of children laughing and playing together, while the mums and dads can sit back and relax or jump in with their camera to capture all the magical moments that I hope they and their children will remember forever.
However in those rare moments when I'm not decorating cupcakes, writing a new adventure theme or creating a bespoke party you will find me out walking my parent's dog Trilby along with Mark - my husband, or trying to keep fit at an exercise class (not as much as I should), maybe reading my next book club book or catching up with friends over dinner and drinks. I love learning new skills and use any excuse to arrange a party or get together. I love children at a wedding.

I got married two years ago and had all the children in my family plus some close friends children. It would not have been the same with out them. However after working with children for 6 years and being a wedding planner for two I know that for a wedding with children attending to go smoothly you do need a bit of extra planning.

I offer a wide variety of entertainment suitable for a wide age range that will ensure the children have a great time and the parents can relax.

I offer from 1 hours entertainment upwards depending on your requirements and include entertainment in the form of party games, mini magic show, bubbles, balloon modelling, crafts, story time and glitter art.
