Having Studied Photography at university, worked for a spell with the Ministry of Defence, and honed my skills on the Fleet Street titles, I have a wealth of valuable experience to offer you. I have worked with everything from 6x9 plate cameras through to 35mm digital cameras and subsequently deliver my clients superb photographic images that have both quality & style.
I am primarily a documentary wedding photographer that also offers portraiture, event photography and corporate photography. My documentary style & approach within my workes from a successful career working for both National & international editorial titles covering news and features.
I have documented historical events such as the state funeral of Princess Diana and the London terror attacks of 2005, covered Robbie Williams performing in front of a record crowd at Knebworth and worked in the studio with Girls Aloud and other stars. I have documented numerous political figures, campaigns and scandals. My experience is invaluable and allows me to deliver winning results from ANY situation.
I am based in Dorset and regularly travel throughout the UK and Europe on assignments. I am a member of the SWPP, The Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers, a professional body over seeing and maintaining the good working practice of Wedding Photographers in the UK.

Thankfully you are a person who knows the many benefits of hiring a professional photographer to record the precious moments of your wedding day. There will be no re-runs and you will need to choose a photographer who is knowledgeable, experienced and more than confident in catching every moment; those that you have seen and those that possibly only your guests have seen !

When choosing a photographer you should ask yourself - Do I want this person with me throughout the biggest day of my life ?

A photographers character and your rapport with them is very important and does reflect on how you interact and respond in front of the camera.

I like to meet all my couples before agreeing to photograph their wedding. As long as it is geographically feasable, we will meet over a coffee and have a chat through your photographic requirements, wedding arrangements and any particular personal touches .

You will have the opportunity to view my work up close and study some previous wedding albums and to identify any preferences in various album designs and layouts.

This can also be a good opportunity to have a pre wedding / engagement shoot where we get to 'work' together on creating some wonderful portraits that encapsulate your engagement period. This engagement shoot experience is free for all my couples and produces some wonderful & relaxed imagery that couples often use on their wedding stationery.

I love meeting new couples full of excitement and wishing to share all the great details and preparations that have been carefully sourced and brought together to make their day so unique and special. It really fires me up in wanting to capture images that will simply bowl you over. I love to approach every wedding with the feeling that it will be the biggest and the best I have photographed to date. This is something that comes from having a love for weddings and people as opposed to budget and extravagence. Some of my favourite & most memorable weddings have been small & simple but full of loving details and wonderful people.

My style of wedding photography is more documentary than other more traditional styles. I like to blend in with the wedding party and act as almost one of your guests. I do understand the importance of taking some formal photographs and try to fit these in quickly with the minimal of fuss. I also offer couples the opportunity to take a small window of time out from the bridal party for some contemporary wedding portraits, but again prefer to keep the time involved as small as possible.

I prefer to use available light where possible and avoid the use of flash photography. This choice of shooting style allows me to capture true moments without drawing attention to the presence of a camera and a subject performing for it.
