Baby Namings
Every Naming Ceremony, is an informal unique event and offers the flexibility to meet the individual needs and wishes of the family.
Ceremonies can be specially created using the family's own selection of words, poems and readings from the wide selection provided. During the ceremony a Souvenir Certificate is signed by the parents, supporting adults and myself.
There are many ways to make your child's ceremony a very personal, meaningful and unique event for all those involved. You can hold your ceremony at any suitable venue. The venue does not have to be licensed in any way, nor does it have to be local to you. Perhaps you have a hotel in mind, or maybe a favourite restaurant or a village hall.
Of course, you might prefer to hold the ceremony at home, or at a friend or relative's house (subject to suitability). Ceremonies can be held outside but there will need to be an inside room available in case of bad weather.

    Weddings

My celebration ceremonies are written and unique to you as the special couple. Promises and exchanging of ring words can be chosen by you and you can have the opportunity of selecting your promises or composing your own words.

The ceremonies can be carried out at a suitable location chosen by you to make your day special. The ceremony is carried out following a formal civil ceremony held at at a Register Office. This format is based on the French tradition, where all weddings by law have to take place in the Register Office and then followed by a ceremony in the church or hotel afterwards.

I have recently conducted ceremonies for couples who have married abroad. I have also conducted a service in a farmers field where the bride grew up on her fathers farm.

The choice is endless, let me make your day special.

    Renewal of Vows
Have you a special anniversary coming along?

Do you want to have a short ceremony, bespoke written for your party.
Why not engage me to conduct a short but meaningful ceremony to renew your wedding vows in front of all your guests.

The ceremony can be as long or short as you wish. Perhaps you may want to invite your friends and family to an evening function. Start the evening with a short and meaningful ceremony.

    Garden Weddings
    At a licensed Venue

If you have booked a licensed for wedding venue or intend to do so.

Look around the gardens of the hotel or venue.

Many hotels have wonderful gardens and floral areas or lakes and building backgrounds which will make your ceremony extra special.

In North Lincolnshire you may wish to consider Elsham Hall and Gardens.

A naming ceremony is an ideal way of celebrating the birth of a new baby or to welcome a child into the family. Many couples feel that it is appropriate to have a special occasion to celebrate the birth of a baby that can be shared with their family and friends. They can also be used to celebrate adoptive children and step children becoming part of a new family.

    Testimonials

    Baby Naming Testimonial
    Hi Phil,
Apologies for the late reply, had a busy couple of months! We're all well thank you.
The ceremony was fantastic, very professional but with a few personal touches. We liked that you came to visit us first to discuss our requirements and tailored the ceremony for us. Everyone commented afterwards how well the ceremony was conducted. We would definitely use your services again in the future and have highly recommended you to others.

    Photographer
Recently I had the pleasure of working with Phil and I was amazed at the professionalism which he brought to the wedding ceremony. He was completely at ease with the ceremony, which was like nothing I had seen before in the 7 years or so that I have been a professional photographer. I have seen many, many weddings and it was nice to see one which had been written just for that couple and conducted with confidence and friendliness. I very much look forward to working with Phil in the future.

    Hi Phil,

I have just logged on to send you an email to say how pleased we were with the ceremony you conducted for us. So many commented on what a lovely ceremony it was and how fitting it was for the surroundings. My dad who was initially not sure about the ceremony is a convert and loved the fact that it was so personalised. Thanks again for your help organising it and making it just as we wanted.

    Dear Philip,
I just wanted to write and thank you so very much for the beautiful service that you gave for my Mothers Funeral. The tone and content were exactly what we wanted as a family and it gives us great comfrot to know that mum had a beautiful and very perssonal 'send off'.
Thank you for your patience, kindness and understanding - you provided just what we needed and we are so very grateful.
    With very best wishes.

    Dear Mr Spicksley

I would just like to say what a lovely way you gave my husband Desmond Horton's Celebration of his life. Everyone said it was the best they have been to, and when you put on the Dragon Fly, for the children they keep talkking about it, so once again thanks and I hope when my turn comes you will do the same for me.

    Yours truly G. Horton

Letter sent to the Co-operative Funeralcare, Doncaster July 2011
    Dear Louise
I just wanted to say thank you to all the Co-op Funeral Care staff who took care of my mother’s funeral on April 21st. We were all impressed by the courteous and professional approach of everyone we met from your organisation. Thank you also for putting us in touch with Philip Spicksley, whoconducted the service at Rose Hill. I would highly recommend Phil to any family who do not wish to have a religious service. It felt as if a family friend was speaking to us at the crematorium: he had taken the time to find out about my Mum’s life and her family, his speech was interesting and a comfort to us all. Phil also came with us tosay a few words when we buried the ashes and he made this small event into a touching occasion. Please pass on my thanks to your colleagues. Kind regards

    Funerals

In our increasingly secular society the demand for non-religious or alternative ceremony funerals is on the increase.

My ceremonies are by their very nature personal celebrations of an individuals life. To commercialise and standardise these ceremonies would be to destroy those very features that make them so sensitive, so genuine and so much appreciated.

The services are tailored to the individual needs and requirements of the bereaved.

My aim is to highlight the achievements and lifestyle of the deceased. Remembering those happy memorable times during the life of the loved one.

My service is to provide mutual support and comfort to the bereaved. Giving advice and help families and friends cope with their loss.
