Our History
Our Family have been making hand sewn kilts now for 60 years. In the past 19 years, we have been retailing kilts and accessories to the public from our shop at 45 Main Street, West Calder. Over the years we have made kilts for many celebrities, and are honored to include members of the Royal Family among them. We do not provide anything less than full hand sewn kilts at verypetitive prices. Our Kilts arepletely hand sewn from top to bottom. We do not sell anything less than full bespoke, carefully hand sewn kilts and outfits at verypetitive prices.
The Kilt
The Kilt is the most important part of our business, and we take great pride in the skill level involved in masterfully constructing a Kilt. All of our Kilts are hand sewn with an average of 6,000 stitches in each one. We intend to keep it this way, which is why we have recently joined the Kilt makers association to assure our customers of our quality and hopefully give the public a general guarantee of workmanship when buying a kilt, as so many inferior quality kilts are now being manufactured.  The kilt is a knee length garment with pleats on the backside and is most often made of woolen cloth in a tartan pattern. Kilts are most often worn on formal occasions such as weddings, highland games, and other sporting events, but in recent years the kilt has also been adapted into an item of fashionable informal male clothing, returning to its original roots as an everyday garment.
We also offer a wide range of sporrans ranging from formal to day wear. A basic leather sporran will cost upwards of £ 28.00, we offer sporrans in leather and fur.
Isobel MacDonald.
Isobel has been making Kilts for over 56 years. She guarantees that no kilt will leave the shop until she is totally 100% satisfied it is up to standard. All Kilts can be altered at any time for a minimal cost or even re-made if need be.
A Kilt for lifetime.
A Kilt is a Family heirloom and if looked after correctly, one of our quality Kilts will last a lifetime if handled with care and affection.
