The Loudon Ceilidh Band is a lively three piece group of talented professional musicians, prising Guy on lead accordion, Jennifer on keyboard and vocals and Elizabeth on fiddle.
All experienced instrumentalists in their own right they have been playing together for the past eight years and have built up a wide and varied client base throughout Central Scotland.
The band plays traditional Scottish dance music for all popular ceilidh dances from Gay Gordons and Canadian Barn Dance to set dances such as Dashing White Sergeant and Strip The Willow. They also perform party favourites like Slosh, Alleycat, Hokey Cokey and much more.
The band can include some less well-known Scottish Country Dances on request for more experienced dancers.
Jennifer also sings classic swing numbers for those wishing to partake in a little ballroom dancing or to listen while taking a breather from the ceilidh sets. Jennifer can also provide live singing during a meal when required.
Lead accordionist, Guy is also an experienced dance caller and is always ready with wit and humour to talk participants through the dances before the music starts. Therefore everyone can take part even if they have never been to a ceilidh before.
At no extra charge the band can provide an integrated disco package for those wishing to dish up a variety of entertainment for their guests. This has proved extremely popular at weddings, birthday parties and anniversaries where it is important to cater for a variety of age groups and tastes.
Every budget is catered for as Loudon can reduce to a two piece or increase to a four piece as required. The two piece consists of lead accordion and keyboard (as the keyboard has all drums and bass sounds built in this is still a good solid sound), while the four piece includes Graham on second accordion.
The Loudon ceilidh band uses only the best quality sound and lighting equipment, currently favouring a two-tier Peavey sound system with more than enough amplification to suit indoor and outdoor marquee venues.
Using reliable and well serviced transportation, the band arrives promptly for all bookings and are set and sound cleared well in advance of agreed starting times.
When booking the Loudon Ceilidh Band clients deal with Guy Wiley, the band's owner and founder. Once all details have been agreed Guy puts it all in writing and posts a signed copy to the client with a further copy for the client to sign and return in the SAE provided. Therefore all clients have clear and concise paperwork to support the booking for their big event.

Weddings

The band has vast experience in providing wedding entertainment throughout Central Scotland.
We are well versed in the finer points of introducing the happy couple to the dance floor to lead off, and will always play the bride and groom's choice of first dance.

We have, on many occasions liased extensively with the bride beforehand to tailor the music to her requirements with both the ceilidh sets and disco.

The ceilidh that you did for us at the Ayr Railway Club was such a good night. Everyone enjoyed themselves, so much so that as they were leaving I was asked when the next one would be. Everyone reported sore feet, so you certainly kept us going!

(Ayr Pipe Band Society)

Dear Guy & Team, I want to thank you all for the very excellent ceilidh you provided for us at my son's wedding on 1st April 2009. We enjoyed it very much and appreciated your guidence with most of the dances as we were not too familiar with them! Our Japanese visitors entered wholeheartedly into the dancing and certainly looked like they were enjoying themselves. We will be glad to recommend your ceilidh band to friends who are looking for one for their special occasions. God bless you.

I just wanted to get in touch, now that I’ve returned from my honeymoon, to let you know how delighted we were with your services on our wedding day.

A lot of people said it was the best wedding they have ever been to and a lot of that was due to the great atmosphere you created at our reception.

Although the guests were slow to pick up on the dance moves, they were left wanting more so you really left things on a high. Everyone loved the traditional ceilidh band touch and have been talking about it ever since.

I will definitely be recommending you to all my friends.

Thank you for making the day so memorable and fun.

Kind regards,

Laura

Hi Guy

Just want to thank you and the girls for putting on a fantastic show last night. Our guests had a great time and we are so chuffed we raise £3,300 for charity. We couldn’t have done it without your support and we will be in touch for our event next year.

Thanks again and look forward to seeing you in the future.

Kind regards

Aquatron Dive School

Thank you all so much for Friday night. I hoped you enjoyed yourselves as much as we enjoyed you! We had a great time and everyone remarked on how "good the band are". Space was at a premium but it did not stop the dancing! We will certainly recommend you to all our friends. Thanks again.
