Can photographers and videographers shoot during the service?

Generally speaking, photographers and videographers are not allowed to shoot in the synagogue during religious services. Therefore a lot of the photos are taken before the ceremony or on a day earlier in the week when no religious ceremony is being held. However, some reform synagogues are more lenient about photographers and videographers and will allow them to shoot during the service as long as no flash is used and they stand off to the side as to not disturb the ceremony. Speak to your Rabbi about what is and isn’t allowed during your ceremony.
